Affiliations and Certifications
We, at Rooftop, are constantly seeking out new and improved ways to deliver the best services and products to our Customers. We strive to be the best. Therefore, we stay up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques in the roofing and construction industry. Rooftop and/or our Contractors are proud members of numerous affiliations and associations and are certified in just about every proven reliable roofing system. The following are a few of the many organizations and certifications we and/or our Contractors belong to:
DURO-LAST Certified Roofing Contractors
Our Crews are DURO-LAST Certified Roofing Contractors. The Duro-Last roofing system membrane is a proprietary thermoplastic formulation consisting of resins and plasticizers, stabilizers, biocides, flame retardants and UV absorbents. A weft-insertion knitted scrim that is laminated between two layers of film gives the membrane its strength and durability. The Duro- Last membrane is available in white, tan or gray.
Duro-Last has met or exceeded all major fire and wind code requirements, and regional approvals as necessary throughout the country. These certifications reinforce Duro-Last’s leadership in providing the consistent, watertight integrity that building owners expect.
Duro-Last has been approved by Factory Mutual as a 1-60, 1-90, 1-105, 1-150 and 1-210 roofing system. Duro-Last is also listed by Underwriters Laboratories as a UL Class A material. Evaluation services ICBO and NES have merged to form ICC-ES, which has evaluated Duro-Last for the International Building Code (lBC). The Duro-Last roofing system has been approved by the IBC and by code agency MIAMI-DADE for use in their respective jurisdictions.
Duro-Last is proud to be a charter partner of the ENERGY STAR® Roof Products Program. The ENERGY STAR label indicates to building owners and managers that the Duro-Last white membrane can save them money on cooling costs due to its high reflectivity (reflects over 86% of the sun’s energy). Duro-Last is also a charter member of the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Duro-Last participates in all major technical committees in the roofing industry, plus the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM).
CHARTER MEMBER of Tile Roofing Institute
We are charter members of Tile Roofing Institute. Tile Roofing Institute is a leading proponent of concrete and clay tile roofing systems. TRI manufacturer members produce 95% of the tile roofing installed in North America and actively work with research & testing organizations and local code bodies to improve the quality, durability and affordability of tile roof systems.
TRI is a non-profit trade association and membership is open to all those involved in the production, distribution and installation of clay and concrete tile roof systems. TRI is also a member of NAHB’s Concrete Home Building Council.
NRCA: National Roofing Contractor Association
Established in 1886, NRCA is one of the construction industry’s oldest trade associations and the voice of professional roofing contractors worldwide. It is an association of roofing, roof deck, and waterproofing contractors; industry-related associate members, including manufacturers, distributors, architects, consultants, engineers, and city, state, and government agencies; and international members. NRCA has more than 4,600 members from all 50 states and 54 countries and is affiliated with 105 local, state, regional and international roofing contractor associations.
NRCA is an active and progressive organization of members who share a common purpose and interests. Numerous NRCA committees and specialist teams are responsible for an ongoing development of new ideas, programs and services. NRCA strives to help roofing professionals achieve competitive advantages and develops and implements programs to improve members’ businesses.
NRCA contractor members range in size from companies with less than $1 million in annual sales volumes (40 percent of the current membership) to large, commercial contractors with annual sales volumes of more than $20 million. More than half perform both residential and commercial roofing work, and more than one-third have been in business for more than a quarter of a century.
